February Classes

Baaad Anna’s strives to offer accessible and affordable classes, while supporting and respecting the work of instructors. We are trying out a ‘sliding scale’ for the registration fee, and hope that participants will pay based on their own income!


Dates: Tues. Feb 7, 14, 21,28

Time: 6pm – 7:30pm

Cost: $65-$85 (+ hst) sliding scale
Instructor: Hilary Jones
Materials needed: One pair of 6.5mm needles and 2 balls of a chunky
weight yarn.

This is a beginner knitting class for anyone who has never picked up needles, or for someone who is looking for a beginner refresher. Participants will learn the basics including casting on, knitting, purling and casting off. The class project will be a choice between simple leg warmers, hat, scarf, or arm warmers. Minimum 5 participants and maximum 8. The class runs for 3-weeks and includes a Baaad Anna’s beginner manual.

Beyond the Basics

Materials needed: Materials will be based on the project chosen.

Description: For those who can knit and purl and want to take their knitting to the next level. This class is project based, bring a pattern that you want to tackle or a project you’ve always wanted to do more but don’t have the skills to tackle! Minimum 5 and max 8 participants.


This class is a combined beginner and intermediate class for those who prefer to take a class during the daytime. The beginner description and the intermediate description apply to this class as well.

Time: 9:30 – 11am

Dates: Sunday’s Feb 12, 19, 26

Time: 1 – 3pm

Crochet is a lot easier than you think. Its versatility and endless creative possibilities make it a favorite among many crafters. This class will teach you the basics of crochet including making a chain, working in the round and three of the most common stitches. The project for this class will be a simple beanie.

Materials needed: One pair of 6.5mm needles and 2 balls of a chunky
weight yarn.


Beginner Crochet Class




This afternoon workshop will teach you all the basics of needle and wet felting. The class will be teaching a variety of techniques – making mini felted items (animals, food, jewelry – your imagination will run wild in this class). No experience necessary. Minimum 5 and maximum 8 participants.

Date: Sunday, March 11

Time: 1pm – 3pm
Cost: $45 (+ hst) supplies INCLUDED (100gr of fibre and 1 felting needle)

Felted Animals Workshop




Date: Saturday’s Jan 21, 28, Feb 4, 11, 18, 25
Time:12 – 1pm
Cost: $10 per session or $50 for 6-weeks
Instructor: Anna Hunter

This is a drop-in Kids knitting class for any level of knitter. From Beginner to Intermediate to advanced, and hour of instruction each week for kids and their own projects. Please bring in your project or questions and you will receive help and assistance. For those brand new knitters, age appropriate projects and lessons will be provided.

Kids must be 6 years old to attend the drop-in. It is not required to attend every session.

Materials Needed: Materials are based on the project chosen.

Please note that all classes must be paid in full 2 weeks before the beginning of the class and a refund will not be given for cancellations within 1 week of the start date!
