A Quiet Brilliance

September 8, 2012

There is a quiet brilliance in working at a yarn shop.

Quite often, people come in who are not fiber crafters… but someone in their life is/was. Frequently people come in to look around, and will tell you stories of their mothers or grandmothers. They will describe the things that their loved ones made, and you connect to them on such a personal level. It is like a quiet thank you from someone for carrying on a tradition that they them self do not know.

Sometimes they have a peaked interest in taking a beginner course, and sometimes they just wanted to share their memory with you.

This is one of the reasons that I feel lucky to work at my Local Yarn Store.

And on that note, lets look at this lovely pullover. The Plain and Simple Pullover by Veera Valimaki.
