What’s on the Sticks

October 15, 2012

hello monday…phew, I really can’t believe you are here already, this past weekend as a crazy WHIRLWIND! for those of you who attended any of the fabulous knit city fibre festival then you know what I’m talking about! We had such a great time all weekend, there were so many wonderful fibre folks, the vendors, the instructors, the organizers (HUGE shout out to Amanda and Fiona of Knit Social for doing a fantastic job), the volunteers…the whole vibe it was amazing!  We are recovering and the store is in total disarray after moving everything out and back in all weekend!

Baaad Anna’s at Knit City

For those of you that visited our booth, you saw that we were teamed up with Ashford and were promoting not only the fantastic products for all your spinning, weaving, carding, dyeing needs, but also about our craft rentals program.  More on that in the coming weeks.  I had an opportunity to talk with so many great folks, that I’m really excited to start bringing into the store in the next year. I don’t want to share all the plans right now, but in the meantime, here are some of my highlights!

– Talking with Jane Richmond and Shannon from Luvinthemommyhood about the new BOOK of Jane’s designs!

–  Meeting the designer behind RainCityKnits and seeing her fantastic colours!

– As always, the talented and amazing work by Sweet Georgia!

–  If you like felted stuff, but don’t like doing it yourself – this booth was ADORABLE, check out Honey

– I was especially proud (not in a condescending way of course) of Caitlin’s amazing booth!

– And then of course some things to watch out for soon.….

Oooo! Does this mean you’re going to stock Little Red Bicycle and Indigo Moon yarns? I absolutely couldn’t resist buying a gorgeous skein of Indigo Moon sock yarn at Knit City and I loved what Little Red Bicycle had on offer too, but had spent my yarn budget by that point.
