Sweater of the Month – September 2014

November 3, 2014

Ok I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted a”Sweater-of-the-month” post, but for some crazy reason both June and July I chose epic adult sized sweaters – and one of them is using sport weight yarn. So you all are going to have to wait for those (some finishing is required *shirk*)

But this is the sweater I knit in September, I absolutely love this finished project. It will be in the shop for a few more weeks, until I send it off to Winnipeg for a sweet little that just arrived, a little that we have been waiting for, for a loooong time! It is the Anders Sweater by knit-wear designer Sorren Kerr.

I knit the sweater in Malabrigo Arroyo – do I need to even tell you about Malabrigo Yarn – it is a lovely sport weight yarn, and a skein of yarn generously given to me by local knit-jewely designer Kristan Macintyre, Yarn On The House (YOTH) Big Sister. This beautiful yarn comes from Washington State local dyer Veronika and it is stunning. I’m not going to say much more – because we will be having a trunk show of this amazing yarn at the end of the month – watch for details!

We have a great range of tonals and variegated Malabrigo Arroyo yarns – perfect for this little sweater pattern, which comes in sizes from 3 – 24 months. “Anders is a sweet top-down pullover in sizes from 3 months through 2 years. Knit in soft wool this sweater is warm, hardy and able to withstand a trip through the washing machine, should the need arise. Colorwork in the lower body is echoed in the cuffs and simple raglan shaping and an option to wear with buttons in front or back (to keep away from busy mouths) make it versatile and easy-fitting.”
