Every pair of socks knit as part of the Summer of Sock will be entered in our summer-long contest. There will also be special workshops and pattern launches throughout the summer, focused on building and breaking your sock/fingering-weight yarn stashes!

I’m getting my sock knitting needles warmed up by participating in Tour de Sock on Ravelry. Mimicking the Tour de France, there are stages for my sock-knitting team to complete to go on to the next round, each getting progressively harder. Stage One started on Monday, and although there were finishers within the first 12 hours, I am happy to have completed one of my first pair so far, with four days left in this stage! More to come on this fundraiser for Docters Without Borders soon.

My first 24 hours of racing produced half a sock! Admittedly I probably only got about 4 hours of knitting time in; note the snail in the picture reminding me that its a race!

And stay tuned as we reveal more details about the Summer of Sock!
