NEW Spring YARN: Americo Cotton Flamme

April 10, 2016

We are excited to welcome a few new yarns to our Spring lineup this year. Today we will introduce the first of our favorites, with many more to come!

AmericoOriginal Yarns from Toronto does all of their own sourcing, visiting the farms and mills that produce their yarn lines. For Spring, we brought in a gorgeous thick-thin 100% pima cotton that knits up to produce a unique and stunning airy texture perfect for the warmer months.

In its skein form it is hard to imagine how it might knit up, but we have a lovely sample in store of Americo’s own sweater pattern, the Hawthorn, to show off its drape and texture. Americo has designed a number of patterns for each of their yarn lines that come free with purchase of their yarn, so we can help you create a kit (yarn + pattern + needles) for a new spring project quickly and easily.

And a huge thank you to Juan Carlos Azpilcueta who took these lovely photos of my favorite sister-in-law Ann who was such a good sport! Juan Carlos took these for a project for his Photography program documenting various shops in Hastings Sunrise that focus on the hand-made… if anyone is interested in his photography skills, I would be happy to pass along his contacts!
